What Are Recycled Movie Costumes?

Have you ever watched a movie or a television show and seen a character walk by in a gown that you just know you've seen before? No, chances are you aren't just imagining it - there are literally hundreds of great examples of costumes that have been reused and recycled for use in other films. Someone mentioned to me that I should watch the Annie Lennox music video Walking on Broken Glass, because the costumes were to die for, and it was inspired by the film Dangerous Liaisons - even going so far as to star John Malkovitch.

So I watched it and was surprised to find that not only were the costumes inspired by Dangerous Liaisons - in several cases, they had been used in Dangerous Liaisons.

I've updated two of the following pages with new sightings from the video...

And you can watch the video here.

But it brings up a good point. Sure, we look for recycled movie costumes in movies obviously and televsion sometimes...where else should we be looking? I recently found two commercials for Magnum Temptation chocolate that I am fairly sure have costumes from Marie Antoinette.

And then one for Sky TV HD...

Go forth. Watch! Find Recycled costumes!

So this begs the question - where else should we bee looking aside from movies and tv and sometimes book covers? Are there any other music videos or commercials you can think of that might possibly have recycled costumes?
