This costume has been seen five times, and interestingly enough, twice in the same film on two different characters!

It was first seen on Mrs.Gardiner in the BBC's Pride and Prejudice, but may even date to a much earlier time to the much earlier BBC Jane Austen mini-seires' made in the late seventies and late eighties as it seems to have that 'look' that many of them did. But that is mere speculation.

From Pride and Prejudice in 1995 it went on to be used in Emma the next year, then twice in Wives and Daughters in 1999. It makes an appearance on Mrs.Browning, and then is somewhere in the background of the film, as the making of shows the dress on an exta. Keep those eyes peeled, I know we can find it! It was last seen in the 2008 Little Dorrit!
