This beautiful robe a la francaise has been used on at least four occasions, though it is unkown from what production it originated. Its first apperance was in Aristocrats, which recycled many costumes from The Madness of King George. While no gown matching it has been seen in The Madness of King George, it is still the most likely candidate for the film the gown was originally made for. The gown was used again, though barely seen in the film The Brotherhood of the Wolf two years later. It was used again twice for productions that aired in 2006 - first in Marie Antoinette, where it was made over significantly with a new stomacher and bows, and then in Doctor Who for the episode The Girl In The Fireplace. It was last seen in The Supersizers Go: episode focusing on food in revolutionary France. |
