This costume has also been moved to the undetermined section, so look for it there as well!
While not many gowns were made for the prodution of Henry VIII, they were made for Helena Bonham Carter in order to disguise the fact that she was several months pregnant. This pink confection was seen again on Natalie Dormer in the second season of The Tudors, only some trim has been added down the front center of the bodice. This gown is another great example of just how different gowns can look when placed under different lighting situatios.
An image of this gown in outoor lighting has been unearthed and it appears to be a bit more puple than pink. Of course, this begs the question - if the gown didn't come from Henry VIII, where did it come from? The Tudors has very, very rarely made any of its own gowns, so this one must have come from an earlier production somewhere. Keep those eyes peeled! |
