Multiple golden crowns with spades and spikes were probably made for Elizabeth in 1998, worn by Christopher Eccleston as the Duke of Norfolk as well as other actors as noblemen. One crown showed up in the 2003 made for TV movie The Lion in Winter on Glenn Close as Queen Eleanor. It was then seen on Jonathan-Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII in the tv series The Tudors in 2007.
The costumes for Elizabeth were designed by Alexandra Byrne, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her work. She did not win, but later won the award for the sequel Elizabeth: The Golden Age. |
