This dress was originally designed for the film Dangerous Liaisons by costume designer James Acheson. It was recycled for Clarissa, and then again in The Madness of King Georgewhere it appears briefly on a courtier, and then in Jefferson in Paris, where it never appears in full - only giving us a quick glimpse of it.
The gown is in remarkable condition considering how old it is and how many times it has been used. It is now a part of the Fashion In Film Exhibit that tours across the country. You can find a schedule up until 2010 for the exhibit here. |
