Jefferson in Paris
Costume seen on Greta Scacchi as Maria Cosway
Costume seen on Diana Quick as (older) Lady Louisa
The Affair of the Necklace
Costume seen on Joely Richardson as Marie Antoinette

This highly distinctive jacket is especially unique, because the costume itself is based off of an actual extant garment. The original jacket (left) dates from the 1790s and is on display at the Kyoto Costume Institute.

The costume from Jefferson in Paris (with costumes by Jenny Beaven) takes great pains to create all of the intricate details of the original piece.

The costume was possibly reused again in 1999 in the BBC mini-series Aristocrats, and then in 2001 in The Affair of the Necklace, though differences in the jacket make it difficult to determine. It's possible that at least two of the sightings above are the same jacket.
